With police officers as coaches and state-of-the-art programs, StreetSafe is the new standard in driver training. In today’s complex and challenging driving environment, it’s essential to ensure your teen has the most comprehensive, effective driver training available.
What Makes StreetSafe Different?
Driver safety is the number one priority at both StreetSafe Driving Academy and Subaru of America. That’s why Subaru is the Official Vehicle of StreetSafe Driving Academy. The Subaru Legacy is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, earning highest performance in front, side, rollover and rear tests. It features standard electronic stability control and Subaru’s renowned ring-shaped reinforcement system.
StreetSafe believes in hands-on, active learning. That’s why we emphasize behind-the-wheel training, active participation in classroom activities and proactive (as opposed to reactive) driving strategies. We offer behind-the-wheel instruction for teens, adult and senior drivers as well as classroom training for teens.
There’s no substitute for experience. Private Coaching Sessions expose students to a wide variety of driving environments including residential, main thoroughfares, rural roads, nighttime, highway, and city driving under the guidance of our expert coaches and in the safety of our specially equipped training cars. We offer driving instruction using either manual* or automatic transmission. Behind-the-wheel coaching is offered 7 days a week, during day and evening hours.
Collision Avoidance Techniques (CAT) Clinic
The CAT Clinic teaches teens how to handle emergency situations. We teach obstacle avoidance, backing techniques, off-shoulder recovery, how to handle skids and controlled braking.
Field trips, guest speakers, demonstrations and games actively engage teens and enhance the learning environment. StreetSafe uses the most current, high-tech teaching materials and tools, such as Virtual Driver (PA locations only) and Drive Square simulators. Once enrolled in the program, students can access and review the classroom information online, anytime.
Support for the Whole Family
StreetSafe strives to minimize the stress associated with teaching teens to drive.
That’s why we offer:
- Information and guidance to help parents adjust to driving with their teen
- Written and verbal feedback to parents regarding the teen’s progress in mastering specific skills behind-the-wheel
